In the sense of the japanese tradition of wabi sabi, “Dinner Chronicles”is made to show the beauty of impermanence and imperfection. Unglazed areas on the inside of the dishes will take stains, that form an unique pattern. Each piece is individualized through use and tells its own history.
The other is a necessary body of resonance. It opposes the „murmur of the same“ through collision and interaction. Positive and negative are counterparts, that rely on each other for dialectic encounters. The goal of this project is to investigate the role of the other as a confrontational power, not only by means of social interaction through the use of tableware, but also within the process of ceramic production.
Shape and placement of the unglazed areas are designed to visually connect to the specific movement of eating from the dishes.
